Speaker:

Is there an area of your life where you

Speaker:

feel like you get a degree of growth, a

Speaker:

degree of success, only to

Speaker:

drop back down to the level you were at

Speaker:

previously? That's because you have a set

Speaker:

baseline, and to make a change to

Speaker:

that, you need to increase your baseline.

Speaker:

Today, we're going to talk about some of

Speaker:

the ways you can make that happen.

Speaker:

I'm Ian Hawkins and this is Sporty's

Speaker:

life. The purpose of sport, as I

Speaker:

see it, is to see your vision become a

Speaker:

reality, find your voice, create

Speaker:

strong connections and learn to trust

Speaker:

your body.

Speaker:

You would have probably heard that stat

Speaker:

about the huge percentage of lottery

Speaker:

winners who end up squandering that money

Speaker:

within a very short period of time, year

Speaker:

or two. What happens is that

Speaker:

people have a default level of success,

Speaker:

default level of financial.

Speaker:

Value that they value themselves and if

Speaker:

they don't lift their mindset to

Speaker:

be someone who has that money then they

Speaker:

will find a way to come back to their

Speaker:

level. And this is true for all

Speaker:

different areas of your life.

Speaker:

Happiness. Success

Speaker:

relationships. You have a default

Speaker:

level and you might have

Speaker:

fluctuations up and down from that level,

Speaker:

but in the main you come back

Speaker:

to your baseline

Speaker:

unless you do the work

Speaker:

to raise that baseline. Because

Speaker:

what often happens is you have those

Speaker:

moments where you go, Oh yeah, I'm

Speaker:

flying, but then suddenly you crash back

Speaker:

down and you can't work out why.

Speaker:

It's because you're defaulting. So there

Speaker:

might be those times where you fall into

Speaker:

a hole. Just got to remind yourself

Speaker:

you'll get back to parity soon enough.

Speaker:

But if you want to raise that line, if

Speaker:

you want to raise your baseline, if you

Speaker:

want to greater success, greater

Speaker:

financial.

Speaker:

Security. Greater

Speaker:

health. Happiness,

Speaker:

quality of relationships, everything.

Speaker:

It's about raising that line and we do

Speaker:

that, changing your mindset,

Speaker:

removing some of those old patterns.

Speaker:

Going through a period of growth

Speaker:

by learning more self awareness.

Speaker:

As many things as you can

Speaker:

about how you value yourself because

Speaker:

you look at the financial one. If

Speaker:

you don't value yourself enough to not

Speaker:

only receive that amount of money, but

Speaker:

also be able to keep it and

Speaker:

increase it. Then you'll

Speaker:

default and and have a think about. You

Speaker:

might have heard those stories and you

Speaker:

know, there's no way that happened to me.

Speaker:

Well, it's a great quote from Wes Brown

Speaker:

that said. Along the lines

Speaker:

of. If you.

Speaker:

Be a millionaire or if you want to have

Speaker:

vast amounts of money, you better.

Speaker:

Get a millionaire mindset, otherwise

Speaker:

you'll just find a way to lose. O

Speaker:

it's the same for anything that

Speaker:

you're working on. How do you raise that

Speaker:

baseline?

Speaker:

So some things that you can action

Speaker:

straight away is getting clear

Speaker:

on what that future looks like, what is

Speaker:

it you're actually working towards

Speaker:

because unless you've got some sort of

Speaker:

plan. Well, then you have to again

Speaker:

default back to whatever the the

Speaker:

existing plan has been. So get some real

Speaker:

clarity on that vision. Get some.

Speaker:

Detail around it, get some process

Speaker:

around it. So that's your first

Speaker:

step. Then it's some self

Speaker:

awareness on some of those patterns that

Speaker:

unfold where you find yourself.

Speaker:

Defaulting back to that, that current

Speaker:

level. So maybe you've had a level of

Speaker:

success. Let's use health for an example.

Speaker:

You've you've been on a run of of good

Speaker:

fitness, but then suddenly it all drops

Speaker:

off the Cliff. Maybe you get injured,

Speaker:

maybe you get sick, Maybe something

Speaker:

happens that you need to dedicate time

Speaker:

and energy towards you stop the exercise

Speaker:

and then the pattern continues.

Speaker:

So self awareness is the first step,

Speaker:

starting to recognise the patterns. Where

Speaker:

do these patterns show up? How often do

Speaker:

they show up?Is it the same or very

Speaker:

similar every time I have these setbacks

Speaker:

when I seem to come back down to that

Speaker:

same place?

Speaker:

Because self awareness will allow you

Speaker:

to start identifying where your

Speaker:

leaks are, where your traps are, the

Speaker:

things that are keeping you stuck.

Speaker:

And then once you see where those things

Speaker:

are happening. Then you can start

Speaker:

putting some things in place to address

Speaker:

those, to address the leaks, to address

Speaker:

the traps, to come up with some better

Speaker:

solutions so that you can then change

Speaker:

what needs to change. And when you can

Speaker:

identify what needs to change, then you

Speaker:

can start finding solutions.

Speaker:

More often than not, what you think is

Speaker:

the problem is not the problem.

Speaker:

Again, if we come back to the money

Speaker:

thing, you think you haven't got enough

Speaker:

money to make more money?

Speaker:

It's not from a lack of

Speaker:

resources, it's a mindset

Speaker:

restriction, a belief system.

Speaker:

A question of how much you value

Speaker:

yourself.

Speaker:

So we've got getting that clear vision,

Speaker:

we've got that self awareness

Speaker:

about where are some of those things and

Speaker:

then it's OK, how do I come up with a

Speaker:

solution? I've got the awareness I can

Speaker:

see. The traps,

Speaker:

then I can start building a plan. And

Speaker:

you also need a circuit breaker

Speaker:

because when you see the things that are

Speaker:

happening, that loop will continue

Speaker:

unless you can find a circuit

Speaker:

breaker. And a circuit breaker might be

Speaker:

having some external help with

Speaker:

whatever you're going through. It might

Speaker:

be that you need to change some of that

Speaker:

you're doing. It could be that. You need

Speaker:

to have. Some sort

Speaker:

of?

Speaker:

Assistance to help you

Speaker:

upgrade your mindset. For me,

Speaker:

my my first foray into

Speaker:

personal growth was very much from me

Speaker:

chasing financial independence. And

Speaker:

the very first thing that I learned

Speaker:

once I started learning from someone who

Speaker:

was who was teaching other people to

Speaker:

change, that was how important it was to

Speaker:

upgrade my mindset. To

Speaker:

change my mindset, to change my value of

Speaker:

how much?Belief I had, how

Speaker:

much I value myself and

Speaker:

how much I was capable of bringing into

Speaker:

my life.

Speaker:

Once you raise your baseline, then

Speaker:

when those setbacks happen.

Speaker:

You'll default back to this new improved

Speaker:

baseline. You won't drop back down again.

Speaker:

So find a way. Follow these steps

Speaker:

that I've given you. That's your starting

Speaker:

point, and then, as always, then

Speaker:

be. On alert

Speaker:

for opportunities that come your way once

Speaker:

you've got these three steps in place.

Speaker:

You've taken the time to listen to this

Speaker:

whole episode. Now it's time to take

Speaker:

action. Commit to one thing you've

Speaker:

learned today and make it happen. And to
