Speaker:

I just think what a difference he could

Speaker:

make in those communities, but then also

Speaker:

communities across multiple different

Speaker:

areas if he was able to

Speaker:

remove those blocks and and be the

Speaker:

absolute superstar that he is capable of

Speaker:

being. What's interesting is that.

Speaker:

Not long after.

Speaker:

Turbo goes off injured that.

Speaker:

Dolly Cherry Evans does. He's back.

Speaker:

And Remember Me talking last week about

Speaker:

those injuries that are about feeling

Speaker:

like you're holding? The weight of so

Speaker:

many different things I talked about.

Speaker:

I'm Ian Hawkins and this is Sporty's

Speaker:

life. The purpose of sport, as I

Speaker:

see it, is to see your vision become a

Speaker:

reality, find your voice, create

Speaker:

strong connections and learn to trust

Speaker:

your body.

Speaker:

Such was the feedback I got after I did

Speaker:

that episode last week around

Speaker:

the injury personas. I'm

Speaker:

gonna make it a weekly wrap. So starting

Speaker:

from this week, the injury persona weekly

Speaker:

wrap and before I

Speaker:

dive into the high profile injuries that

Speaker:

I saw this week and discuss what's going

Speaker:

on, just wanna make it clear that.

Speaker:

Not saying that these people are

Speaker:

deliberately going out and getting

Speaker:

injured, On the contrary, it's all

Speaker:

happening at a subconscious level. There

Speaker:

are certain beliefs

Speaker:

below the surface at that subconscious

Speaker:

level which is stopping them from

Speaker:

having that consistency which are

Speaker:

resulting in those injuries. That on a

Speaker:

logical level, on a more

Speaker:

of an ego level, they're actually

Speaker:

fighting desperately to stay

Speaker:

fit to continue to hit

Speaker:

those same levels and then of course

Speaker:

improve and take their performance to

Speaker:

another level. So this is not about them

Speaker:

deliberately getting themselves into into

Speaker:

injury situations. We all

Speaker:

have different.

Speaker:

Subconscious beliefs coming from years of

Speaker:

programming, a lot of it's formed in our

Speaker:

very earliest years and we run

Speaker:

certain patterns and and they repeat and

Speaker:

they can keep us from actually moving

Speaker:

forward to where we want to get to. And

Speaker:

it's no different in sport and it's no

Speaker:

different when it comes to the physical

Speaker:

body. So that's what's playing out.

Speaker:

So let's get to the first one. And this

Speaker:

seems to be someone that's been in the

Speaker:

injury. News way too often,

Speaker:

because we all know what he's capable of,

Speaker:

and that's Tom Dubois. Well, it looks

Speaker:

like it's not a serious injury, which is

Speaker:

great to hear for all us footy fans who

Speaker:

love watching him play. Especially the

Speaker:

Manly fans, I'm sure, But a

Speaker:

hamstring injury again. And So what I

Speaker:

know of hamstring injuries is that

Speaker:

there's a whole lot of depth to it. But I

Speaker:

don't want to go into the full depth

Speaker:

because I'll just bore you with the

Speaker:

details. But essentially

Speaker:

it's about moving forward and

Speaker:

and the different levels. So if you think

Speaker:

of maybe a sprinter

Speaker:

that is at a level. Perhaps

Speaker:

beyond where they think their

Speaker:

subconscious sorry at a level.

Speaker:

That at a subconscious level, they don't

Speaker:

believe they belong.

Speaker:

Maybe. They're

Speaker:

like feeling out of their depth in a in a

Speaker:

race more than the hamstring tear will

Speaker:

happen.

Speaker:

And they won't have to get to the end of

Speaker:

that race to see the disappointment of

Speaker:

not being quite up to that level. There's

Speaker:

a there's a pattern playing out. But then

Speaker:

also sometimes those injuries happen when

Speaker:

people are out in front. So hamstrings

Speaker:

also can be when you have

Speaker:

gone beyond the level that you actually

Speaker:

believe or that believe you're capable

Speaker:

of, but probably more so believe that you

Speaker:

are deserving of. And sometimes

Speaker:

it's also like it almost gets too

Speaker:

easy. And I think this is probably the

Speaker:

case for Tom. It's like he's playing so

Speaker:

many levels above when he had his best,

Speaker:

so many levels above. It's almost like.

Speaker:

He could just change the game at will and

Speaker:

has done and it's

Speaker:

like that's for him to be that

Speaker:

much of A standout. Just

Speaker:

subconsciously there's a pattern there

Speaker:

that's saying, oh, I'm not ready for that

Speaker:

level of. And if it's fame, but

Speaker:

to be put in that higher level of.

Speaker:

Top tier of player. It's also like, I

Speaker:

feel like, you know, it would take him

Speaker:

because hamstrings are also around your

Speaker:

roots and where you come from. And

Speaker:

it would maybe he would feel that again

Speaker:

at a subconscious level that would take

Speaker:

him away from his roots from being that

Speaker:

local boy that's stayed at manly all that

Speaker:

time. And because you know the

Speaker:

pardon me, both of those or both or

Speaker:

three of those boys playing for Manly,

Speaker:

it's well known that they've still highly

Speaker:

involved in the local community and, and

Speaker:

really. They're, they're part

Speaker:

of the community at a much deeper level.

Speaker:

And, and maybe there's a, there's a

Speaker:

belief there that that that would take

Speaker:

him away from that because there are,

Speaker:

there are times when when he's playing at

Speaker:

his best, that it's like he's, he's

Speaker:

untouchable. And imagine if he could

Speaker:

string that together for a long period of

Speaker:

time. And of course, with a lot of

Speaker:

injuries, but particularly around

Speaker:

hamstrings, it's self trust and.

Speaker:

The level of. Trust he

Speaker:

has in himself around a whole lot of

Speaker:

different topics and I'm not going to

Speaker:

pretend to know what they are because I

Speaker:

don't know him. I haven't met him, but I

Speaker:

would. If I have a conversation

Speaker:

with him, we could work out what that is.

Speaker:

We can move those obstacles out of the

Speaker:

way to allow him to thrive.

Speaker:

Because I just think what a difference he

Speaker:

could make in those communities, but then

Speaker:

also communities across multiple

Speaker:

different areas if he was

Speaker:

able to remove those blocks and and be

Speaker:

the absolute superstar that he is capable

Speaker:

of being. What's interesting is that.

Speaker:

Not long after.

Speaker:

Turbo goes off injured that.

Speaker:

Dolly Cherry Evans does. He's back.

Speaker:

And Remember Me talking last week about

Speaker:

those injuries that are about feeling

Speaker:

like you're holding? The weight of so

Speaker:

many different things I talked about.

Speaker:

The responsibility and Michael Clarke

Speaker:

when he was having to shoulder the burden

Speaker:

when all of those.

Speaker:

Stars of the Australian cricket team had

Speaker:

moved on and he was having to bring this

Speaker:

new transition, this new team

Speaker:

of of young players through and and yeah,

Speaker:

he was feeling the weight of that and

Speaker:

he's back when and and I was almost

Speaker:

almost instantly, it was like 5-10

Speaker:

minutes later DC ES back goes and

Speaker:

and the spasm. And again, thankfully it

Speaker:

doesn't sound like it's serious to be

Speaker:

playing, but it just shows how quickly

Speaker:

these things can unfold when when the

Speaker:

reality of our like, you know, it's going

Speaker:

to be all on me again. Of course, he's

Speaker:

got a whole lot of other good players

Speaker:

around him and it's not all on him,

Speaker:

but that's the feeling that he would

Speaker:

have, right? Maybe consciously,

Speaker:

definitely subconsciously that OK, it's

Speaker:

up to me because this is what high

Speaker:

performers that they, that's how they

Speaker:

look at things and he's been a high

Speaker:

performer for a long time. Again, we'll

Speaker:

use the example of State of Origin and

Speaker:

and test matches and, and he and he's

Speaker:

not had to shoulder that burden and

Speaker:

he's not the primary person as good as

Speaker:

he's been. He's not been necessarily the

Speaker:

the out and out star, the captain, yes,

Speaker:

but not feeling like all that

Speaker:

responsibilities on his shoulders and

Speaker:

that hasn't been a problem. And then

Speaker:

there's Mitch Moses who's who's had

Speaker:

another set back. It looks like he's

Speaker:

going to be out for another 3 or 4 weeks,

Speaker:

well after that first week from para.

Speaker:

They were diabolical, let's be honest,

Speaker:

against a red hot Melbourne team,

Speaker:

suddenly the pressure they'd be feeling

Speaker:

of on him to come back and change

Speaker:

all of that, probably consciously,

Speaker:

definitely at a deeper level and

Speaker:

suddenly like a blood flow to the foot,

Speaker:

it's not recovering. It's going to be a

Speaker:

few more weeks out. And that wouldn't

Speaker:

have been helped any by the weekend's

Speaker:

result either. So.

Speaker:

It's really interesting from since that

Speaker:

conversation, how many of these things

Speaker:

have been repeated in the week after and

Speaker:

then the other two want to talk about is.

Speaker:

Matt Burton and Liam Mika from the

Speaker:

Bulldogs. Not 100%

Speaker:

, confirmedbut both suspected of

Speaker:

MCL damage to their knee.

Speaker:

They'll be both be out for

Speaker:

significant periods of time by the sound

Speaker:

of it. The MCL is all about

Speaker:

stability. Stops the leg,

Speaker:

stops the knees sort of going side to

Speaker:

side when when you're.

Speaker:

When you're in, when you're moving,

Speaker:

basically. So there's an

Speaker:

imbalance there for them and

Speaker:

that that team is on the rise and and

Speaker:

there'd be a certain amount of pressure

Speaker:

on those two players in particular. And

Speaker:

when there's an imbalance around moving

Speaker:

forward, then that's when those sort of

Speaker:

injuries can happen. My best

Speaker:

guess would be they're in the process of

Speaker:

trying to master something, that the

Speaker:

coaches set them a certain target and

Speaker:

they're not getting in 100%

Speaker:

rightagain, at their

Speaker:

lofty standards, they're probably doing

Speaker:

it at a level that's acceptable, but but

Speaker:

their own standards, they're feeling like

Speaker:

that should be better. And again, the

Speaker:

high performer just wants to be at that

Speaker:

elite level of time, wants to hit what

Speaker:

they know they're capable of it

Speaker:

consistently,

Speaker:

consistently, and so

Speaker:

they crack the shit. And

Speaker:

then the result is the injury

Speaker:

because of

Speaker:

that frustration, then going through the

Speaker:

body and and creating more of that block.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

I've done this sort of work for hundreds

Speaker:

of clients already.

Speaker:

People having results like

Speaker:

instantly pain removed from certain areas

Speaker:

that they couldn't get right. We spent

Speaker:

countless hours and dollars on different

Speaker:

sort of processes to improve things and

Speaker:

I reckon it'd be hyper fun to be able to

Speaker:

do this in at this elite level

Speaker:

and yeah I.

Speaker:

What I'm looking for is.

Speaker:

3 elite level sports people. So that's

Speaker:

you or. You

Speaker:

know someone that is

Speaker:

having repeated injuries then?

Speaker:

I'm Yeah, I want to speak

Speaker:

to you. I want to, I want to look for

Speaker:

three people in this space who I can take

Speaker:

on and.

Speaker:

Process this, help them clear this

Speaker:

for free. Umm.

Speaker:

Because I know the impact that this will

Speaker:

have on sport if this is something that

Speaker:

becomes the norm. So yeah, that's

Speaker:

my challenge to you to either get in

Speaker:

contact with me directly or if you know

Speaker:

someone, let me know and or let

Speaker:

them know. And yeah, let's see if we

Speaker:

can change that pattern for good so that

Speaker:

you can move on to what it is that you

Speaker:

really want, the results you want, that

Speaker:

level of performance that you know you're

Speaker:

capable of and doing it consistently

Speaker:

again and again.

Speaker:

You've taken the time to listen to this

Speaker:

whole episode. Now it's time to take

Speaker:

action. Commit to one thing you've

Speaker:

learned today and make it happen. And to
